Training Notes…
Whilst fussy eating regressions aren’t as researched as sleeping regressions there are two ages that we can see heightened fussy eating behaviours…
- 2 – 3 yrs – At this age body growth starts to grow, while mental development increase. This can lead to a decrease in food intake and an increase in the need to feel in control. Kids start to explore boundaries more and thrive on structure. All of these elements combined can lead to fussy eating or troubling mealtimes.
- 5 yrs – Commonly kids start school around this age and the change in structure can throw them off course! At home and at mealtimes in particular kids will try and take back control where possible! Let them serve up their own dinner, this is a great way to help them feel in control!
